FOOD AND WORDS WITH MELISSES ANDROS

Creative writing, cooking retreat

This Autumn, I will be co-hosting a retreat at Melisses, one of my favourite places in the world. It is a writing and cooking retreat, in collaboration with New York-based poet Jay Deshpande.

We will spend the days gazing out at the Aegean, reading, talking, and eating a medley of Mediterranean food, some of which you will learn how to prepare too.

No writing experience or ambition is necessary, this is the perfect opportunity to take some time for yourself, and to enjoy the feeling of well-being that comes from eating a good meal, surrounded by good people, looking at a beautiful view.

SWEET LEMONS: BITTER HONEY
A return to the magical Anna Tasca Lanza

Sweet Lemons: Bitter Honey: A return to the magical Anna Tasca Lanza, a cookery school and farm in rural Sicily where I left a large chunk of my heart last autumn. Here we will while away the days exploring Fabrizia’s extraordinary herb garden, learning how to make ricotta, making pasta, polpette, cassata and much more besides. It is one of the most special places I have ever had to privilege to visit, a truly authentic (overused but apt here) window into Sicilian cuisine and culture.
